The Brief

Ventia (Eastern Well) required a complete coating and corrosion protection package for a Rockover Shaker and Mudtank trailer operating in the coal seam gas sector. The scope called for several distinct coating systems across different zones of the same asset, each specified for the environment and function it needed to perform in, from the tank interior through to the trailer undercarriage and safety-marked components.

 

Surface Preparation & Blasting

The asset underwent a full internal and external abrasive blast ahead of coating. Following blasting, onsite non-destructive testing (NDT) was carried out, and a whip blast was completed immediately prior to coating to maintain surface cleanliness and profile across multiple booth loads and colour changes.

​Quality Assurance

AMPP third party coating inspection was carried out at every stage of the project, with a standard Quality Management Report generated for Ventia on completion, documenting the coating systems applied, DFT readings, and inspection records across each zone of the asset.

The Result

The Rockover Shaker and Mudtank trailer returned to service with a coating package engineered zone by zone: sacrificial corrosion protection on structural steel, a high build system for the more severe undercarriage exposure, a chemically resistant tank lining, and a multi-colour polyurethane top coat built for gloss and colour retention in the field.
