The Brief

Savanna Energy required corrosion protection and a full repaint of Rig Carrier 67, a 20 tonne-plus rig carrier used in coal seam gas operations. The scope covered the carrier body excluding the mast, with the finished asset needing to withstand extended field service in a demanding operating environment.

 

Surface Preparation & Blasting

Surface preparation was carried out as required ahead of abrasive blasting to Class 2.5, achieving a 30 to 90 micron surface profile, the foundation for long term coating adhesion and corrosion resistance.

​Quality Assurance

A full Material Data Report was produced and supplied to Savanna Energy on completion, documenting surface preparation, blast profile, DFT readings at every stage, and batch and hold point records.

The Result

Rig Carrier 67 returned to service with a coating system engineered for the coal seam gas environment: corrosion protection at the mild steel level, a durable topcoat built for gloss and colour retention, and safety highlighting to spec. Full documentation means Savanna Energy has a verified record of exactly what was applied, and when it's due for its next inspection.
